Holiday-themed marketing can breathe new life into existing promotional items—and this project for Rocking Horse Farm is a perfect example. The development had a surplus of custom chocolate rocking horse handouts that were underutilized at the office. Inspired by Valentine’s Day, we transformed them into a thoughtful and creative direct mail campaign.
Each mailer featured six chocolate rocking horses arranged in a kraft box with a clear heart-shaped window, tied with a red ribbon for a festive touch. A custom-designed tag played off the idea of a “secret valentine” and included a heart-shaped scratch-off sticker that revealed the Rocking Horse Farm logo underneath. The back of the tag provided additional information about the development, tying the playful concept back to the brand’s goals.
This unique and charming promotion was so well received that several recipients personally called the office to express their appreciation. Despite being allergic to chocolate myself, I had a great time designing this memorable campaign that left a lasting impression.
